Workplace Assessment
A worksite assessment is an important component of our vocational rehabilitation and may be utilised for any injury whether it be acute or those that occur via a gradual process. This includes a description of the workplace, job tasks and corresponding functional requirements for those tasks. Based on the assessment, recommendations can be made to assist with managing injuries during the return-to-work process whilst maintaining productivity. Our experienced clinicians will develop a graduated return-to-work program and follow this through until completion.
Early Intervention
Our tried and tested Early Intervention program is designed to assess for a work-related pain or discomfort by providing an immediate action plan to reduce severity and speed up the recovery process.

We want to help you and your company avoid unnecessary ACC claims and associated worker absenteeism. The program provides recommendations on acute pain management, education and training regarding workplace ergonomics or manual task techniques and recommendations regarding workplace modifications.

Workfocus provides experienced musculoskeletal physiotherapists who all have extensive knowledge working in Occupational Health and onsite with local businesses.
Ergonomic Assessment
Our Ergonomic Assessments involves an evaluation of the worker at their workstation to ensure optimal working postures, ergonomic work practices, correct workstation set up and ergonomic equipment recommendations where appropriate.

Poor ergonomic work practices or workstations play a significant role in the development of many preventable musculoskeletal disorders including neck, back, shoulder and arm pain, headaches, and repetitive strain injuries. By providing employees with information on good ergonomic practices it can reduce costs associated with lost work time.
Manual Handling or Wellness Training
Manual handling is essential to many working roles and can include lifting, pushing/pulling, carrying, packing or repetitive bending, kneeling, squatting etc.
Our Manual Handling or Wellness Training provides groups or individual training that aids in awareness to reduce risks, improve performance, and reduce absenteeism due to injuries in the workplace. It plays an important role to ensure employees carry out safe manual handling practices.
Having a core understanding of policies, procedures, proper lifting techniques and are necessary to avoiding incidents. Our manual handling or wellness trainings are geared specifically to your organisation or business.

Workfocus has developed a research-based train-the-trainer education package tailored to medium-large businesses. Health and Safety champions from various working groups are taken through how to effectively communicate manual handling protocol to their peers and educated on how to measure and monitor progress.
Functional Capacity Evaluation
Workfocus has a team of experienced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists able to perform a Functional Capacity Evaluation to determine a worker’s functional ability, strengths, skills, and current physical capabilities. This assessment will help an employer establish what job tasks the worker can safely perform during the return-to-work process.
